Giving back to our community
We are committed to giving back to our community. We support various organisations, not-for-profit associations, and charities in the interest of helping those in need. From February to November, team members nominate charities they want to support. We choose local organisations in the Maitland community that are close to our hearts.
We are proud to support local organisations in the Maitland Community. We believe that it is important to give back to the community that supports us, by supporting it in return.
Supporting the local Maitland Community
A local Hunter organisation committed to promoting community awareness of palliative care services to meet the needs of their family and carers. They provide assistance to people in the Lower Hunter by coordinating and managing fund raising activities, supporting medical teams providing palliative services, loaning out electrical beds to aid palliative patients and more. We provide ongoing support to this organisation throughout the year. Our team participate in Friends of Palliative Care’s annual walkathon, where we bring our families on a walk, ending with a small ceremony to recognise those we have lost over the years.
The Newcastle House provides a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families. Located next to John Hunter Hospital, they provide hot meals, a bed, an education program and support for families so they can focus on the most important thing – their child’s health.
Helps rescue neglected, abused and surrendered horses. The organisation also raises awareness of the welfare of all horses through education, partnership and outreach.
Supporting partners and the children of those who gave their lives, or their health, for our country.
This year we were one of the proud hosts and sponsors of the Hunter Valley Boutique Collective International Women's Day High Tea.
This was a great opportunity for us to invite key members of our community and hear from local leaders about ways to #BreakTheBias. Our Financial Strategist, Laurie Anderson had the opportunity to speak at the event and share her insight.
Many members of our team regularly donate blood at the Red Cross Blood Bank located around the corner from our office.
Offers support for young people aged 12-25 dealing with cancer. Through Canteen, the young patients learn to explore, deal with their feelings about cancer, connect with others dealing with similar circumstances and access support.
This network is made up of committed community members that believe suicide prevention is a community responsibility – with the community playing a vital role in keeping its members safe.
