ASIC has all the information relating to the regulation and operation of companies. It is a must see site for all company directors and anyone looking to setup a company. We recommend looking at the director’s duties fact sheets to better understand your responsibilities.

The Australian Business Register is the place to search for business names and ABN numbers. When engaging a new contractor or supplier you should always check their GST registration status by searching their ABN on this site. It’s a 5 minute check that could save you a lot of bother if you inadvertently claimed input tax credits from a suppler not registered for GST.
